This is my first slice (blog post) about World Financial Group and from this Wednesday forth it’ll be known as WFG Wednesday. Ha!
Ever since I joined WFG in November 2014, I was inspired. I was inspired by the amazing products that can help virtually everybody, the awesome moral support from my team, other leaders and colleagues, the simple, yet lucrative compensation plan and the hope the company gives to fulfill our dreams.
Since joining, I’ve attended weekly meetings almost every Tuesday night and Saturday morning, except when I had the flu. Each meeting, people are recognized for their hard work, we learn about products and/or hear about success stories.
This past Saturday, 1.24.15, Julius Reyes earned a promotion to Executive Marketing Director. Reyes, an engineer for 13 years, left Motorola to join WFG full time. He made $60K part time in the business. He earned the promotion with the help of his sister, brother-in-law and good friend.
Alongside his wife, Reyes thanked his team and called upon those who helped him. After seeing the mutual respect and love that was expressed in front of the crowd, I was inspired to write this slice.
I sat there thinking that I want this success with my family and friends. The hardest part is having others share the excitement with you. If only my family and friends could have witnessed this promotion, they would understand what this company can help individuals and families accomplish.
Because not everyone is as open-minded as the successful people – which I will be – in the business, friends and family fail to see the bigger picture, sticking to their comfort zone, thinking too small and basically not even trying.
On the flipside, some friends and family will gladly latch on to your dreams and really support you on the bumpy road to success. Obviously, these are the positive people who you need in your corner, to be your wingmen (wingwomen), to leap frog you (Navy SEALs reference) in the firefight of life.
Truth be told, there are plenty of haters in the world and it’s sad that some of them can be your friends and family. They may not be hatin’, but they may doubt, which is just as bad.
Luckily, in WFG, there are countless, like-minded, business-savvy people who will usually alwaze be on the same page as you. When your friends and family fail to support your dreams, there is a second family to back you up and be there for you not only when you succeed, but when the chips are down. Shout out to Team M&M – as I like to call it Motivation & Momentum or Making Moves.
Lastly, as the NY rapper, 50 Cent said in his song, In the Club:
If they hate, let ’em hate, and watch the money pile up.
What do you call that timepiece on your wrist? Watch!
